Most first days in Paris are lost ones. You arrive jet-lagged with a list of eleven things, spend forty minutes working out a métro map, walk twice as far as you meant to, and eat badly at four in the afternoon because everything’s shut.

These four tours exist to stop that.
Two of them are the greatest hits in half a day : Notre-Dame, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, in an order that works, with someone who knows which entrance and which hour.

Two are a whole day with nothing fixed but you : museums, neighborhoods, markets, whatever you say when we ask what you actually want to see.

And each comes two ways: on foot with a métro pass, or in a private van with a driver. That choice matters more than people expect, and we’ll be straight with you about which one you need.

    Why the van costs what it cost ?

    A van adds roughly €400 to a half-day and €800 to a full day, and it’s fair to ask why.

    It’s a vehicle and a professional driver held for your group during the tour, in a city where almost nothing can be parked and much of the center is restricted to certain vehicles at certain hours.

    Your guide isn’t driving, he/she is guiding, which is the point.
    On a walking tour that cost simply doesn’t exist.
    If nobody in your group needs the van, don’t buy it.

    What do our guests ask us before their day in Paris ?

    What should you do on your first day in Paris?

     Get oriented before you get ambitious. Half a day on the four landmarks with someone who knows the routes will save you more time than any itinerary you build the night before: and if you learn the métro on day one, the rest of the week costs you nothing in navigation.

    Can you do a Paris tour on a cruise stopover or a layover?

     Yes, and the van is the one to book. Fixed pickup, fixed return, no dependence on métro strikes or walking speed. Tell us your ship or flight times and we build backwards from them with a margin — no guide should be optimizing your return to the port to the minute.

    Can you see Paris in one day?

     You can see the outside of most of it and the inside of one thing. That’s the honest version. A full-day private tour is the way to do it, and the single most useful decision is choosing which one interior :  the Louvre, Notre-Dame, the Orsay, you actually stop for

    How many days do you need in Paris?

     Four gives you the icons and one neighborhood properly; five or six lets you stop rushing. Most first-time visitors overfill three days and remember very little. If your trip is short, cut a museum rather than the afternoon with nothing planned.

    Is a private tour of Paris worth it?

     It depends what you’re buying. For the money you get a licensed guide, the right entrances at the right hours, and a day that adapts when a child melts down or it starts raining. If you’re a confident traveler with time to spare, Paris rewards doing it yourself. If you have four days, three generations and one shot, it doesn’t.

    Is Paris walkable?

     Very, it’s smaller than people expect.
    The city inside the ring road is about 10 km (6 miles) across, and most of the famous sights are 20 to 30 minutes apart on foot, less by métro. That’s exactly why the walking tours are the default recommendation.
    It is walkable when you know you can cover 15K steps a day.

    Do the tours include entrance tickets?

     Not necessarily — these are city tours, not museum tours, however we can include museum entries as add-ons. 
    Landmarks are seen from outside, which is where most of the architecture is anyway. If you want to go inside the Louvre, the Orsay or Notre-Dame, we run dedicated tours with tickets and reserved access → [Museum & monument tours]

    Can you tailor it for children?

    Yes, and it changes the day more than people expect. Gargoyles for the small ones, Napoleon for the teenagers, architecture for the adults,  same route, three different tours running at once. Say who’s coming and we’ll pitch it accordingly.

    What if it rains?

     We move indoors and reorder the day, that’s the advantage of a private guide over a fixed itinerary. Covered passages, a market hall, an early museum.
    Nothing gets cancelled for weather.
    Also the van can shelter from such issues.Â
