Agathe G.

Licensed Tour Guide

Agathe's Personnal Background

I hail from the charming port of La Rochelle and was raised between Cognac and Normandy, which gave me an early curiosity for diverse regions.

I chose my path early on: becoming a tour guide! My mission? To connect with amazing people and share my contagious passion for art history and history, after years of extensive global travel.

After logging over 18 fabulous years in the field, and now navigating the world as a mom to a young, energetic boy, my focus has evolved to center on family audiences!

I’m driven by a single goal: to turn every museum visit and historical site into an unforgettable, accessible adventure for absolutely everyone, from the tiniest tots to the grandparents.

Agathe's Professional Bakcground

After living in Spain and the United States, Agathe pursued her passion for history and culture, leading her to train as a national licensed Guide.

Her complementary training took her to diverse and fascinating locations, including the historic Mont Saint Michel Abbey, oyster parks, prestigious Cognac distilleries, and the ancient Cathar castles.

Agathe’s journey culminated in her working as a full-time guide at the majestic Château de Versailles. She felt deeply in love with the rich cultural tapestry of Paris.

For nearly 20 years now, she has been exploring its streets, sharing its beauty, and unveiling its countless stories to curious visitors from all over the world.

Agathe's Favorite Tours

Ask Agathe about her favorite corner of Paris, and she’ll instantly point to ĂŽle de la CitĂ©, the city’s historic heart.

Her absolute passion?

The Notre-Dame Cathedral & Sainte-Chapelle Tour, where she brings medieval Paris to life with infectious enthusiasm.

She loves sharing Notre-Dame’s remarkable resurrection story and explaining its legendary Gothic architecture. Moreover, she enjoys watching visitors’ faces light up inside Sainte-Chapelle, surrounded by 1,113 stunning stained-glass panels, because they transform sunlight into a kaleidoscope of colors.

For Agathe, this tiny island represents everything magical about Paris: layers of history, architectural masterpieces, and timeless stories that captivate everyone from curious children to seasoned travelers.

Agathe's Personal Recommendation

Keili, a charming vegetarian restaurant nestled on Rue Amelot in Paris’s vibrant 11th arrondissement, is the top dining recommendation from our tour guide Agathe. This intimate and casual cantine offers a warm, plant-forward menu that captures authentic Parisian neighborhood dining away from tourist crowds.

The restaurant’s inviting window display and shaded outdoor terrace create the perfect post-tour stop for visitors seeking local Paris food experiences. Agathe frequently recommends Keili to guests on her Paris food tours and Marais neighborhood walks as an example of the city’s evolving sustainable dining scene.

Located steps from Place de la République and the Oberkampf district, Keili represents the kind of insider Paris restaurant that transforms a visit from sightseeing into authentic local living.
