When I was a college student in Boston, I worked as an historic lecturer and guide telling stories about the American Revolution, the battle of Bunker Hill and taking clients to Lexington and Concord. I enjoyed the wide eyed look of enjoyment as my people listened with anticipation and great interest to stories of revolutionary figures, intrigue and politics of the day, as well as how sentiment was galvanized by the marketing techniques of the day. I think we prefer interesting stories over dates and places and I relish telling a good story as a way to bring history to life in ways that captivate and educate.
Having spent his early career working for Fidelity Investments, it was the love of a beautiful Parisian woman that brought him to Paris in 2017 after a six year transatlantic courtship. With a passion for storytelling, people and history, returning to his college roots as a tour guide was the perfect marriage of the skillset and passion. With degrees in history and languages, John enjoys exploring the interests of clients with his personal experiences and acquired knowledge of French history and culture.
For John, discovering France means embracing its rich history, beautiful architecture, and exceptional culinary traditions. From exploring magnificent châteaux and uncovering the stories of French royalty to enjoying regional specialties and tasting wonderful local wines, every journey offers a taste of the French art de vivre. Whether wandering through the grand halls of Loire Valley castles or savouring the flavours of the countryside, John loves sharing the experiences that make France so captivating where history, gastronomy, and the pleasure of taking your time come together.
