Francois Vulliet

Licensed Tour Guide

I am a freelance tour guide based in Paris, specialising in history, art history and cultural heritage. I work with international visitors, particularly English-speaking tourists, and lead guided tours in some of the city’s most fascinating places, including the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, Versailles, Montmartre, the Marais and Père Lachaise Cemetery. My aim is to bring history to life through engaging stories, clear explanations and interactive experiences adapted to different audiences.

I am passionate about history, archaeology and art, from ancient civilisations to modern European culture. I particularly enjoy exploring museums, archaeological sites and places rich in historical significance. Beyond my professional interests, I love music, especially jazz, as well as gastronomy, discovering regional specialities and exploring new destinations. Travelling allows me to deepen my knowledge of different cultures and their heritage. I am always eager to learn, share my enthusiasm and help others discover the richness of the world around them.

Francois's Professional Background

My career has followed an unusual path, combining music, entertainment, tourism and cultural heritage. I began in the world of entertainment, organising activities and events, and playing music in a jazz-rock band. These experiences helped me develop my creativity, communication skills and ability to connect with different audiences.

I then worked as a pub crawl leader, guiding international visitors through Paris’s nightlife and introducing them to the city’s lively atmosphere. This experience sparked my interest in tourism and encouraged me to become a tour guide, sharing my knowledge of Paris, its history and its culture with visitors from around the world.

Over time, I developed a deeper interest in art history, archaeology and French heritage. I decided to take my professional development further and obtained my qualification as a licensed tour guide, known in France as a guide-conférencier. Today, I combine my passion for history, storytelling and cultural discovery to create engaging and memorable experiences for visitors.
