Hi, I’m Anja, a Paris tour guide with an endless love for culture, history, and art. I’ve always been drawn to big ideas and bigger stories. My curiosity led me to Sorbonne University.
There, I couldn’t decide whether to become a chic gallerist or a whip-cracking Indiana Jones of the archives. Rather than choose, I blended disciplines and cultures.
Over the years I transformed my passions into a career sharing museums, monuments, and hidden details with curious travelers. My goal for each visitor who joins me on a tour is simple.
Make masterpieces feel alive, make history feel personal, and make learning seem more like an adventure than a lecture.
Anja’s journey with learning didn’t start out smoothly. As a kid, she wasn’t especially fond of school and really didn’t enjoy reading.
That changed at the age of ten when she discovered Greek mythology and fell in love with gods, heroes, and storytelling.
Soon after, her best friend’s grandfather took her to a curious place full of paintings, drawings, and sculptures. An art gallery, he called it. She didn’t fully understand why people and animals were drawn that way, but somehow a spark was ignited.
From there, curiosity took over. Educated in a mix of French, English, and the languages of the former Yugoslavia, she developed a deep appreciation for cultural diversity early on. Her growing passions led her to study art history, history, and archaeology at the Sorbonne for her undergraduate degree.
This was followed by a Master’s in cultural management and communications. Today, Anja blends her backgrounds as a tour guide with a special dedication to engaging children. She especially focuses on those who struggle with traditional learning or feel disconnected from museums.
As you’ve previously read, picking just one thing is difficult for me, so I don’t really have a favorite subject matter. For me it’s more about making the most out of every experience as I am just part of the adventure of the family visit.
After leading immersive Louvre Museum tours or exploring the historic Les Halles district, Anja from Paris and Beyond Tours often recommends Le Café Blanc to culture enthusiasts seeking an authentic elevated bistrot experience.
Located steps from the Centre Pompidou and the vibrant Châtelet-Les Halles area, this refined establishment offers sophisticated French cuisine in an intimate atmosphere perfect for savoring post-tour conversations.
Anja particularly appreciates Le CafĂ© Blanc’s commitment to seasonal ingredients and classic bistrot techniques—the kind of genuine Parisian dining she shares with guests on her private cultural tours. Its refined yet approachable menu captures the essence of contemporary French gastronomy without the formality of fine dining.
For travelers seeking insider Paris restaurant recommendations beyond tourist traps, Le Café Blanc represents the elevated neighborhood gem that transforms a visit into authentic Parisian living.
